Tacos for Dinner?

Quiere Buena Comida?

One of the most underrated parts of this amazing city is how easy it is to run into great, authentic Mexican food. It’s one of those things you don’t really appreciate until you leave. So if you’re like me and can always go for some cuisine from south of the border, it’s gonna be a great weekend! The Pilsen neighborhood, a straight of a couple miles south on Halsted from our awesome lofts, is hosting its 3rd annual Taco and Tamale Festival.

It's sponsored by the local Frida Kahlo Community Organization, and according to the organizers, a portion of the festival’s profits will go to different community groups dedicated to aiding residents and preserving the uniqueness of the Pilsen neighborhood (which I’ll have to post about soon). Beyond the awesome selection of food (even I was surprised by the number of different ways you can have a taco or a amale!), there’ll be plenty of live music, dancing, beer, and a tequila tasting! Hosted “under the shadows” of some of Chicago’s most famous murals and street art, you’re definitely not gonna want to miss this one.
