Your Hosts
We’re Basil and Carole — full-time travel professionals and the hosts behind Magic Factory Lofts. In addition to offering our Chicago vacation rentals, we also run a custom travel planning agency, RealGreece Travel and offer vacation properties in Greece. Hospitality isn’t a side project for us — it’s what we do every day.
As a mixed-culture couple (Basil, born and raised in Athens; Carole, born and raised in Chicago), we bring a unique perspective to hosting. We know Chicago deeply, and we also understand what travelers need to feel comfortable, oriented, and well cared for.
When you stay at Magic Factory Lofts, you’re not booking a random short-term rental — you’re staying in an intentionally designed vacation home. You won’t find anyone’s clothes in the drawers, but you will find thoughtful touches created with real travelers in mind.
